Glasstap sponsors litter pick - Working
with the local school for a greener outlook
This month, as part of Glasstap's continued effort to support the local community,
we sponsored the children of Alston Primary School to go around the town picking
up litter.
The children all agreed that it was great fun and felt a huge sense of acheivement
when they saw the full bags at the end of the day.

It hasn't ended there either! Debbie Clarke, Deputy Headteacher, told us:
"The school is applying for their bronze eco-school award and will then
be working towards their silver award and through this work, the litter pick
will help teach the children of the effect that litter has on the environment
and ways they can help to solve the problem, which will be beneficial to the
local community as a whole. It is anticipated that a regular litter picking club
will be set up
as a result."

All the children and staff's hard work earned
them a donation of £2000 from the Glasstap Charity Budget, some of
which will be put towards the school garden fund which will allow the
children to learn about growing a variety of flowers and vegetables.
