Hello Mike - following up on Phil's suggestion, I wholeheartedly recommend using a creative activity - I use my local Scrapstore for getting materials for these activities: Scrapstores are charities that collect safe waste from business which can re-used as a low cost creative resource by their members. They are an amazing source of all sorts of creative materials such as foam, plastic pots and tubs, netting, fabric, books, CDs, cardboard tubes, sheets of die cut plastic, con-tainers, offcuts of paper, card and textiles, paint, canvas, posters, wallpaper, string, ribbon and all manner of useful bits and pieces. You never know what strange things you'll find while rummaging in the store!!
There is an information sheet about Scrapstores and how to find your local one on the free resources page of our website at: www.salt-box.co.uk which may be helpful.
Also - regarding ideas: I find that the A Bridge Too Far activity in Trainers Library works really well in the sort of scenario you describe. I've used it a couple of times with companies who have merged and who want to get everyone working as one organisation. It's lively, fun, creative, and helps to hammer home some key messages about working together, having shared goals, communication etc etc.
Hope this helps Nicki |

Hi Mike (and also Sharon as your questions share similarities).
Why not try a creative exercise? You could ask participants (in sub-teams) to create a storyboard or banner for the team or for a change that needs to happen. Or a logo that represents a theme or idea important to your organisation. If you need craft resources search for centres that target recycling and schools. We have two near us where you can fill a bin-bag with all sorts of items that are perfect for a giant craft exercise. Just costs a few quid.
I'm one of the presenters at the Glasstap Trainers' Conference in March. I'm running a 60 minute team activity but don't want to give away anything that might spoil the impact! This would be a perfect opportunity to see an activity in action! Please contact me if you'd like to discuss.
