Hi, does anyone have any excercises that we can use for a group of retail supervisor's attending a 1/2 day workshop on recruitment & selection? Any tried and tested scenarios, activities, exercises or suggestions appreciated.

Hi Giselle, I do an R&S full day and 1 of the things I do is to get them to write a job description and person spec. for a new post and then give them a list of famous people (celebrities, actors, politicians, comediens etc) and ask them to shortlist 4 people from the list for the job stating why they chose them. Example George Clooney might be chosen because he has a high profile for fundraising and has been awarded a Humanitarian Award for his charitable works.The Queen might be chosen for her ability to speak other languages and her diplomacy - There are loads to have on the list and it makes people think about hidden skills in a fun way.
