Team building ideas to review the year and lessons learnt

I have been asked to prepare for a meeting with a director to discuss a team build for two of his teams, to ensure they work more cohesively next year. His thinking is around the concept of a ‘Review of the Year’, or ‘Lessons Learnt’ from a particular project. Would you have any ideas for activities/tasks or formats you'd be willing to share please? Thanks in advance for your help. Best regards, Rachael

Hi Rachel, what about something using ‘insights’ as a base? In my experience if individual understand themselves and how they work, then understand that others are different.. the gap can close surprisingly quickly. You could catch them off guard if they think they are attending a traditional ‘team build’ event. Happy to share ideas info and activities if it would be of help? Love the subject and could talk about it til the cows come home! Regards, Alison

Hi Rachel,

The obvious choice would probably be 'A Year in Focus', but there are a lot of other options in Trainers' Library you could consider, like Happy (Half) Hour for example. It depends on how 'creative' he wants it to be.

However, before getting to the actual review, you might want to consider something like The Wheel, or The Department Game to emphasise the value of working effectively as one team.

Here's some links to those I've mentioned:

Happy (Half) Hour: https://www.trainerslibrary.com/materials/training_doc_details.aspx?doc=289
The Wheel: https://www.trainerslibrary.com/materials/training_doc_details.aspx?doc=2
The Department Game: https://www.trainerslibrary.com/materials/training_doc_details.aspx?doc=546

Don't forget, you can always ask our design team for help through Mentor too: https://www.trainerslibrary.com/user_area/mentor/default.aspx

Hope this helps.
