I'm creating a new senior leadership programme and would like to move away from the usual programme manual for various reasons (environment, lack of use after programme etc). Does anyone have examples of more creative ways to help learners capture their training insights? Thinking one page learning maps, small pack of cards with the key models on etc? I welcome any ideas!

We introduced scrap books so they created their own memory manual and we used the last 20 minutes of each session for them to be creative and use handouts and action plans in their scrap books, the men grumbled on the first session but loved it once they started and were much more practical than fluffy, they were displayed on their desks with pride with 3 months of learning in there. May not be suitable for everyone but this worked wonders for our performance programme.

Hi Caroline

Great idea to do something different, especially for senior leaders who, in my experience, don't particularly want a workbook style approach. I think your ideas would really work. If they are experienced senior leaders, I tend to find they are less interested in theory and want to talk about how they can apply the learning in their own organisation. What about asking them to design their own infographic? This could encapsulate not just the theory but also how they intend to apply it. It's not something I've tried but could work well with both creatives and the more right brained process types. Good luck!
