Hi All, I am in the process of looking for some material on team dynamics (introverts / extroverts - encouraging all to engage) and working with conflict in the workplace for managers. Any pointers or support would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

I use the Honey and Mumfords learning style model but expand its context tow working styles. I find that people can then understand why people are introverted (reflectors) for example and can appreciate their perspective and accommodate. Also useful to understand why there is conflict if preferences are different.

Hope this Helps

Insights Discovery!!! You can do so much around this, raising awareness of self as well as impact on others. I use it all the time, both in individual and team coaching.

Hi Ruth, HBR's 10 Must Reads 'on Teams' is a good source of info. I may also have some articles on teams that I can share with you. My email address is [email protected]. Kind Regards

Hi Ruth, I?m taking a bit of a flyer here and mapping your header/title to the conflict. So, if Tuckman?s model is in-play then my first call would be to the manager and how the ?change? has been communicated. Often the communication only happens once decisions have been made and the conflict is kick-back against the change that is now perceived as being ?done to me?. People usually take as much as 6 notifications to get them to the point of understanding and coming to terms with the change. Here the Kubler-Ross?s Change Curve is a valid model. It will show how the emotions and conflict are normal. Search trainers library for associated material. Based on your question I am also assuming the conflict is directed at the manager. Problem solving comes into play here, with the need to examine the symptoms and to determine the root-cause and then explore possible solution. Hope this gives you a starter for 10. Happy to discuss, email and details available via Glasstap. Colin

I run a day on personality traits and link it to team dynamics. I'm MBTI qualified but don't use the test; I just stick to Carl Jungs original theory. I get people to self-diagnose, reflect and work on takeaway actions to improve relationships/team dynamics. Always a really insightful and enjoyable day.
