High Performing Teams

The question was posted by Jane on 25/01/2012 14:34:48

I'm looking for some inspiration or experience in developing a one-day programme for leaders/managers to build high performing teams. I have a programme that I've written and piloted twice (once with changes from the first) and it doesn't hit the mark. (includes tuckman, 5 dysfunctions, bit of MBTI). I think it probably needs some kind of immersion experience - a team game or business simulation that can immerse the delegates in a team experience where they get the learning for themselves. Ideas and recommendations greatly received. Thanks Jane

p.s. I should add that we already have programmes for Maximising Performance and Communication skills for Managers which cover key skills like feedback and objective setting using actors and including models like situational leadership so it needs to build rather than duplicate these areas

Hi Jane,

Just to build on Charity's suggestion, I'd also recommend having a look at 'The Card Factory - Using Vision and Values' in Trainers' Library. It's perhaps a little bit off the wall but it's extremely powerful and very involving/immersive.

Hope this helps.

Hi Jane, There is a course outline in Trainers' Library "Managing for High Performance" which may help - or you could mix and match any of the suggested modules with your existing material to tailor it to your needs. Do give me a call if you'd like to talk it through. Charity
