Hi Wendy, have a look at a wonderful book called. "Training from the back of the room". Google it. And read the reviews. Personally I found it immeasurably helpful on true facilitation. |

Hi Wendy
Have a word with Paul Tizzard who is an independant trainer and facilitator; he is excellent at both training facilitators AND facilitating events of all kinds and sizes himself. He really lives the principles taught and gets results.
A very approachable chap, he can be contacted at [email protected]. He definately won't try and sell you anything (unless you make it clear you really need him)but is more likely to give you a bunch of free helpful advice.
Best of luck to you. Alan |

Hi Wendy, Thanks for you note on the question board. I am not sure if you just want some ideas to help you get ready or a provider that could work with you to develop and facilitate this?
Either way I am happy to help you; I am an independant facilitator and work with lots of organisations to run a 2 day facilitation skills learning event for either trainers trying to develop further or managers and staff that have facilitation opportunities in their role.
I run this for many companies, for instance just ran this for a Scottish Council last week and running something in the NHS next week and so on.
So I can either talk you through some ideas that may help you design and run it or I can talk/meet you if you would like someone else to work with you. I work all over uk.
If that is helpful to you just drop me an email or call:

Hi Wendy,
We recently added a module to Trainers' Library called 'Leading a Discussion', which I'm sure will help. Not sure if you've seen it. It's under 'Course Modules/Trainer Development'.
(You could use 'Learning - Push or Pull' as an introduction to the above module too - it's in the same area.)
Hope this helps.
Warm regards,
Rod
