Lesley is a Learning and Development professional (and qualified chartered accountant) with 35 years' experience in the professional services sector, 26 years of which as head of Learning & Development in large accountancy firms in Scotland. Specialising in training needs analysis and creation of effective learning solutions. Experienced in leadership, management and personal skills training delivery, also training in the essentials of bookkeeping and accounts. Now working in training consultancy and delivery business Pearl Onion Training in Inverurie, Aberdeenshire.
Lesley works at Pearl Onion alongside her husband Keith, a fellow chartered accountant with many years' experience working in senior financial and leadership positions within a variety of industry sectors. Keith specialises in delivering financial and commercial skills training to help managers become more financially aware and to make better business decisions (for example pricing, budgeting, project evaluation and stock control). His courses include Pearl Onion's unique and interactive 2 day business simulation 'Business Comes Alive', Finance for the Non-Financial Manager, Customer Service, Negotiation Skills and Presentation Skills. Keith has spent a number of years assisting new and small enterprises to establish good business practices in order to grow.
Away from training, Keith helps clients to run their businesses better by working as a management consultant in finance areas, on strategy development, in marketing and by addressing general management issues. These are achieved via project work or by providing interim /part-time management support.
