Background
Over thirty years of direct involvement with every aspect of training which began in the Royal Air Force. Following nine years of operational flying, I moved into flying training as an instructor both in the air and later on the ground. I subsequently transferred to the Admin (Education) Branch as a specialist training officer, reaching the rank of squadron leader and retiring from the service in 2001. Since then, I have operated as a freelance training consultant delivering in the UK and across the Gulf States.
Expertise
I offer training all all aspects of leadership and management including project management. I prefer to concentrate on those subjects that directly involve interpersonal skills such as communication, presentation, influencing and negotiation skills along with conflict management. I use a number of standard tools such as Myers-Briggs, Belbin and the Strength Deployment Inventory (SDI) which I have now used with almost a thousand delegates all over the world.
During my RAF service I managed to gain a first degree with the OU, a full time PGCE with Wolverhampton University as well as a masters degree in education from Brunel University and another post graduate certificate from the OU in open and distance education.
Currently, I am offering a very targeted training course for those business people who use breakfast networking as a method of marketing their businesses. I enjoy seeing the difference that a day can make in terms of an individual's skill and confidence levels with regard to making presentations to small groups.
