Hi

I'm looking to run a course for managers that talks about some principles and tools for continuous improvement that they can use with their teams, and well as leading through change. I'm happy on the change side, but feeling a bit sparse on the continuous improvement piece. As a business we are looking at improving efficiencies across different areas. Does anyone have any great tools/ case studies/ role plays/ exercises that show or reinforce some of these areas?

We've already touched a bit on process mapping, brainstorming and impact/ effort in earlier sessions, so anything that reinforces these or takes them a bit further would be great, or something completely different.

Thank you!

Hi Jane

When it comes to Continuous Improvement, the 2 exercises I tend to suggest in the first instance are One hump or Two (https://www.trainerslibrary.com/user_area/materials/training_doc_details.aspx?doc=247&area=2) and Glasstap Sheep Trials (https://www.trainerslibrary.com/user_area/materials/training_doc_details.aspx?doc=309&area=2). We also have a great new exercise called Thinking Outside the Box (https://www.trainerslibrary.com/user_area/materials/training_doc_details.aspx?doc=1756&area=2) that will encourage them to not be so constrained in their thinking if they want to improve their performance. Finally Goal! (https://www.trainerslibrary.com/user_area/materials/training_doc_details.aspx?doc=610&area=4) is a good one to demonstrate the importance of lateral thinking if we want to improve our performance.

I hope that these ideas help, Jane.

All the best
