This module is expected to last for 50 minutes

Aims:
• To understand the importance of setting clear performance objectives for team members.
• To understand what makes an objective SMART.




10:20 AM Break
10:35 AM Using SMART Objectives

This module is expected to last for 50 minutes

Aims:
• To discover how to apply SMART when agreeing objectives for team members.




11:25 AM Why Feedback Matters

This module is expected to last for 20 minutes

Aims:
• To demonstrate the difference effective feedback can make to someone’s performance.




11:40 AM AIDing Feedback (Why Do I Always Get Them?)

This module is expected to last for 60 minutes

Aims:
• To define what effective feedback is.
• To introduce participants to the AID model for giving feedback.
• To give participants an opportunity to practise giving feedback using the AID model.




12:40 PM Re-Scripting Feedback

This module is expected to last for 50 minutes

Aims:
• To encourage participants to consider the art of feedback and to ensure their feedback is appropriate and objective.
• To enable participants to identify useful, helpful, constructive feedback.
• To clarify what makes useful, constructive feedback.
• To develop participants ability to give constructive feedback.
• To consider how it feels to be on the receiving end of destructive or unhelpful feedback.

2:15 PM Trouble at the Inn - Managing Poor Performance

This module is expected to last for 180 minutes

Aims:
• To encourage participants to consider different approaches to improving poor performance, and the relative merits of those different approaches.
• To encourage participants to think about appropriate timescales over which they might expect to improve performance and standards.
• To consider the implications of not taking action to improve poor performance.

Aims:
• To remind participants of key learning points from the training and/or their action points.
