• To encourage new managers to think about which of their team members they are most worried about managing and begin to identify actions they can take to manage them effectively.




10:20 AM The Cracked Pot - The Balancing Act of Performance Management

This module is expected to last for 20 minutes

Aims:
• To explore the impact on the wider team if under performance isn't effectively addressed.
• To understand why performance management is also about effectively using all the skills within their team.

• To introduce (or remind participants of) SMART objectives.
• To give participants the opportunity to practice writing SMART objectives.

Aims:
• To demonstrate the difference effective feedback can make to someone’s performance.




2:10 PM At a Crossroads - Board Game for New Managers

This module is expected to last for 75 minutes

Aims:
• To explore some of the challenges participants will face as a manager and how to approach them with the right balance of ethics and pragmatism.

3:45 PM Managers Self Assessment - A 360° Feedback Tool

This module is expected to last for 30 minutes

Aims:
• To give participants an opportunity to reflect on their current skill levels as a manager and use the information to create a plan of action.




4:15 PM Action Planning - Implementing the Learning

This module is expected to last for 15 minutes

Aims:
• To allow participants to reflect upon what they have learnt and create a plan for implementing the learning with clear goals and timescales.
• To identify the additional support they will need in order to achieve their goals.
