9:00 AM Assumptions - The Witches of Glum

This module is expected to last for 25 minutes

Aims:
• To understand the importance of listening skills.
• To illustrate the dangers of making assumptions.
• To provoke discussion about prejudices and stereotypes.



Notes
Use this module to help participants to the realisation we all make assumptions based on our past experiences, and these assumptions shape our view of people and groups of people, creating stereotypes and the potential for prejudice. 

9:30 AM Leap of Faith - Beliefs and Behaviours

This module is expected to last for 90 minutes

Aims:
• To explore the way underlying beliefs can drive behaviour.
• To help participants to identify beliefs that they share even where the observable behaviours seem unusual.



Notes
Because of time constraints, stop after the first two exercises and don't run the final exercise that starts on page 9.

10:45 AM Land of the Nutritos - Experiences of Minority Groups

This module is expected to last for 50 minutes

Aims:
• To help participants to consider how it feels to be different from the majority.
• To encourage understanding of the sources of prejudicial feelings and ways of behaving that can make others feel uncomfortable.

11:35 AM Breaking Out of Our Boxes

This module is expected to last for 40 minutes

Aims:
• To highlight similarities and things that unite a group of people.



Notes
This is a useful follow on to Land of the Nutritos. What happens if, instead of focusing on what divides us, we focus on what we share?

12:15 PM Equality and Equity - What’s the Difference?

This module is expected to last for 45 minutes

Aims:
• To explore equality and equity mean to participants and whether there is a difference.
• To explore what equality and equity mean to others.




1:00 PM Lunch
1:45 PM Unequal Opportunities

This module is expected to last for 10 minutes

Aims:
• To introduce the subject of equal opportunities.
• To understand why equal opportunities legislation matters.




2:00 PM A Level Playing Field? - Understanding UK Equality Law

This module is expected to last for 150 minutes

Aims:
• To check understanding of UK workplace Equality Law and build awareness of the responsibilities all employees and managers have.



Notes
We've deliberately left the study of legislation until the end because we want people to be ready to accept the need for legislation first. 

Pause for a break after 30 minutes or so. 

3:00 PM Break
3:15 PM A Level Playing Field? - Understanding UK Equality Law

This module is expected to last for 150 minutes

Aims:
• To check understanding of UK workplace Equality Law and build awareness of the responsibilities all employees and managers have.



Notes
If time runs out, the team nearest the end should be declared the winners. 

4:00 PM Belonging - Diversity, Equity and Inclusion

This module is expected to last for 30 minutes

Aims:
• To encourage participants to reflect on the learning around diversity, equity and inclusion they’ve experienced.
• To review the key learning points from the training.
• To encourage participants to think about what this means for their workplace.
