Hello - just wondering if any Glasstap members work in an organisation in which the training team and development team sit separately in different Depts? Do you have any examples of where this works well or does not work well? Would be interested in any thoughts or opinions on this?

I worked in a travel company where the learning and development role was based in the operations team and was responsible for delivering training to overseas reps. This didn't work effectively at all being based in the operation with no L&D support and a strong operational influence. The role ended up being placed back in HR due to ineffectiveness of it being in the operation.
