Hi Andrea, I was interested in your challenge as a previous Psychiatric Nurse and a sales training manager in Pharma. I am not sure if empathy as such can be learned, but I am convinced that increasing the emotional intelligence of sales people can go a long way. I have a slide deck and can share notes on the subject if that would help? Happy to share and chat. 07795111440. Warm regards. Alison |

Hi Andrea,
You could look on a website called SessionLab - there's an exercise in there somewhere which is all about Empathy maps - basically you would possibly need to give them a scenario and then ask them to look at it from the perspective of the buyer. What pressures do they have? What might be the cost of a wrong decision? Who do they care about 'pleasing'? etc etc. I've used this exercise before and it works well. |

Hi Andrea, Happy New Year to All! I've delivered a half day session on this to our contact centre staff and used the following areas to help them understand what it is. I covered the following: When do you show it- trigger words What does it look like- Empathy vs Sympathy What does a good call look like- use two calls, one with empathy one without, what are the outcomes? Why do we use it/ what are the benefits?
You could easily take a couple of these elements and put it into an hour session. Any support you need, let me know... Thanks Jamie
