Focus On: Community

In previous Focus On newsletters, I’ve highlighted training materials we think you’ll love.

In this edition, I’m going to do something a little different and talk about the Trainers’ Library® community and how you can tap into it to:
  • Learn from peers.
  • Benefit from other people’s ideas and experiences.
  • Share your experiences.
  • Build a valuable network.

And, if you’re a self-employed trainer or training company:
  • Promote yourself and your business.

Community really is a valuable part of Trainers’ Library® membership for those who want to tap into it. It’s a way of bringing self-employed trainers and their potential clients together, for us all to learn from the wealth of our combined experiences and help each other solve common problems and challenges.

Here are some of the key features you’ll find under ‘Community’:

Public Profile
Did you know that Trainers’ Library® members can create a public profile. If you review an activity you’ve used, post a question in talk and share, post a blog or get involved in other ways, your name will link back to your public profile, if you have one.

If you’ve not yet created a public profile, and would like to, you just need to log-in, go to ‘My Account’ and follow the link to Public Profile. Or click here.

NEW: Connect
Connect is a brand-new function, which replaces ‘Find a Trainer’ and has a broader purpose. Linked to your public profile, and only visible to other Trainers’ Library® members, it provides a space where you can share your current news or opportunities with other members of our community.

You could use your news update to:
  • Let the community know what you do – particularly useful if you’re a self-employed training consultant.
  • Let the community know of opportunities – perhaps you’re looking for a new associate, or colleague to join your team.
  • Let others know what you’re working on.
  • Share a great idea or insight.
  • Tell others about some great training you’ve attended, a book you’ve read or a speaker who’s inspired you.

Whenever you update your news, your previous post will be erased. News updates are listed in chronological order in Connect with the most recent at the top. So, posting regular updates will keep you visible.

Please:
This is a brand new function so it’s really important you let us know what you think and if this is useful to you.

Discovery Days
Our Discovery Days remain incredibly popular and often fill up months in advance. They’re a fantastic opportunity to network and learn with other L&D professionals over Zoom, and for self-employed trainers to showcase something they’re passionate about.

So far this year, we’ve had sessions on neuroscience, vulnerable customers, understanding UK equality law, and the CLEAR coaching model to name a few.

And if you’d like to run one of the one-hour learning sessions at a future Discovery Day, please get in touch! (More session hosts mean we’ll be able to run even more of these events in 2026!)

Other Workshops
Here you’ll find our 60-Minute Masterclasses and other member events we run. And we’ll shortly be adding our first Peer-Power Hour!

But did you know? If you’re a self-employed trainer, you can also list your own open events and promote them here too from ‘My Account’.

Talk and Share
Got a specific question you’d like to ask our professional community? Pop a question in Talk and Share and you’ll be sure to get some great help, advice and ideas.

Your question will be sent out in our Auto Update and you can opt to receive an email alert whenever someone responds. And don’t worry, Talk and Share is free of unwanted marketing!

Blogs
Here you can read all of my Tuesday Insights and Focus On blogs, stretching right back to 2010!

But did you know you can also post your own blogs to the community here too?

So, there you have it, some of the key features of Community you might not be familiar with, including one that’s brand new.

What else would you like to see in Community?
